Shelbie K. Talent ID # 9678 was accepted to join Nine9 on August 9. 2005. She was fourteen years old when she was scouted in MI at the Lake Side Mall while eating ice cream with her mom and grandma. In typical Nine9 fashion, an Nine9 scout went up to Shelbie and handed her a card asking her to attend an open call. At first Shelbie, her mom and grandma had no idea what to think. Was it for real? Was it legit? Could it be true? These were all questions being asked between the three of them. That night, Shelbie and her mother checked out the website and researched Nine9 online. After being assured that this might be the right opportunity for Shelbie, they attended the open call. She was called back for a second interview and accepted to join Nine9. Soon after, she and her mother were flying to NYC to meet with agencies like Ford, IMG, Next, Ikon, and Vision. When she came back, she had the opportunity to be seen by Ford again when the agency had reps visiting the Nine9 Corporate office in Troy, MI. Ford liked Shelbie so much they signed her.
