Just a line to let you know, I attended the Saturday workshop presented by Dwayne Jackson at the Chicago Office. I found him to be very inspirational. I also could not wait to tell you that later that night; I performed my very first Open Mic Comedy Act. Inspired by Mr. Jackson's earlier suggestion, I took a hand held recorder and recorded the testimonial from the patrons, staff and other comedians there who were amazed this was my very first time performing. I have always been accustomed to performing where it was connected with some kind of Company or family/friends event. Being the new comic that night, I was called to perform first. In other words, I did not have time to be nervous. I just let the conversation flow.

After thanking Mr. Jackson the minute I returned home, he emailed me and congratulated me on following my dream. I have to admit some of my family and friends were a bit upset that I did not tell them I decided to take this plunge. I just explained that I needed my first performance to be in front of people who did not know me at all. I left my first performance feeling really good about myself as an aspiring comedian. I also made new friends. I just wanted to share this with you OST. You are always so supportive. Thanks!
