My story!!!...
My older sister always wanted me to be a model, and she was the one who made me started. She spoke to her friend and He took me to NY to have my portfolio done by photographer Fadil Berisha. One month later I went again in NY for some auditions, but all of them required the height to be 5'9 and above. Because I'm only 5"7 I returned to Michigan very disappointed and I gave up on modeling. Two years later in my Diversity class I keep hearing people asking me if I was a model. A little in pain, I answered No I'm not. After a while I become more comfortable with their compliments and to say the truth I really liked them. :) From that moment, I never minded hearing them saying that I looked like a model and that I was beautiful. One day one of my class mates came to my desk and asked me if I wanted to be a model. I said yes because I have always admired fashion, and I always wanted to be a model. I, also, told her my experience in NY, and that I was afraid to get disappointed again. As we were talking she handed out a business card from One Source Talent. I looked at it and I didn't want to take it at first. She said that the height didn't matter that much with this agency. All they looked for was a pretty face and a beautiful smile. She left the card in my hand and said Try it. It's worth it with them. So I did. I went to One Source Talent and singed up with them on March 21, 2005. Yes I had 1000 questions for them and I received 1000 answers back. Conrad and Katie were very kind and honest with me. Before sinning with them they told me everything there's to know about the fashion industry; all the challenges, how hard it is, and what I have to do to make it through. That first day as a model of One Source Talent Katie asked me if I wanted to participate in a runway for a hair show, and I said yes. It was my first experience as a model. Two other models from One Source Talent and I were representing Salon 6. The night of the show I found out that the models for 6 Salon will go first. And guess who walked first? ME&. It looked scary. I was very nervous. I was hopping and praying for not falling while walking. There were about 200 people looking and smiling at me. I felt different, like I was all they wanted to see, so I started walking and doing my thing. At the end I received lots of compliments from everyone there. That gave me the confidence and made me believe more in my self. After that I was called in to audition for Real Detroit Magazine and I got the job. Working with Scott Spellman (photographer) and Suzanne Shiften (Stylist & Makeup Artist) was a blast. They are very nice people and easy to work with. Today I'll start a calendar photo shoot for a company in NY. I just signed up with Affiliated Group for whom I want to thank Katie. And, also, I have an audition for Chryslers Auto show. So far this is my story. Something that, a year ago, I never believed it would happen to me. But what can I say except that Life is full of surprises and so is mine. If you would ask me now about One Source Talent I would answer the same way my class mate did: It is worth trying it :).
Thank you One Source Talent
